I experimented with New Hive over the weekend and created a mood-board/ collage. I titled it 'an Uber pool during rush hour.' I'm surprised that NewHive isn't as popular as other sites like tumblr or Instagram. While navigating the site, I found that much of the content was more creative that the typical Internet 'art' you see on blogs. Then again, other blogs sites don't provide you with same tools for creating media that NewHive does. I liked that I was able to combine almost any imaginable form of digital media in one place. Despite being easy to use, I found that creating a visually appealing collage was harder than I anticipated. Many of my attempts of collages ended up being visually overcrowded or disjointed and I have trouble perfecting this part. I wanted to create a collage that evokes the conundrum of being a regular long-distance LA commuter and being jaded by Uber conversation. I had trouble finding good screenshots and GIFs related to the Uber app, so instead I utilized the few photos I saved on my phone. I used the Bob Dylan photo because I thought it his expression perfectly portrays the misery and misanthropy one feels staring into the savage glow of red break lights.
And I'd wonder If I'd see another highway...
