Editor and archivist Danny Snelson presents his ongoing research into digital remediation and the network culture facilitating online screening environments. Patching together flash versions of classic avant-garde films, personal desktop browser narratives, live typing procedures, database poetry, and new media lectures, Although You May Start Out Looking for a Yellow Sky You May Prefer a Pink One Once You See It explores the manifold implications of a cinematic culture undergoing a rapid and enigmatic process of media translation. The two-panel projection will be expanded by a console streaming a live video chat with Snelson, who will be available for questions before and after the screening. | Although You May Start Out Looking for a Yellow Sky You May Prefer a Pink One Once You See It, 2010 Screenings:D21 Kunstraum, Reihe Experimenalfilm No. 28 |
